Victoria's fire service is broken.

The current system has been patched with bandaid fixes for decades as it has struggled, and failed, to keep pace with Melbourne's growth.

After 59 years I think we can safely say it's time to review the system and provide a professional fire service in growth areas where it's needed, not just in the inner suburbs.

CFA areas like Hallam, Springvale, Dandenong and Frankston and similar growth hotspots are not 'the country' anymore and clearly need an urban fire service.
