Reform inquiry starts today

7 July

A parliamentary inquiry into the government’s proposed fire services reform begins in Melbourne today.

This reform is vital to ensure Victoria gets a modern fire services system fit to keep a growing state safe. Concerned residents and firefighters from across the state have provided submissions to the inquiry, making clear the need for change.

Eight Upper House MPs are in the committee that will review the reform, and begin listening to hearings this morning.

Missed the chance to make a submission to the inquiry? You can still make your voice heard by sending a letter to your local MP under the ‘Email your local M.P.' section on our website.
